DINAR BANKER.COM POST

Over the past 7 days, the Central bank of Iraq has been limiting the distribution of uncirculated Iraqi Dinar to banks throughout Iraq. As a result, there have been very limited amounts of uncirculated currency available in countries neighboring Iraq where US dinar dealers obtain their currency. The recent limitations on the distribution of the uncirculated currency are apparently the result of the Central Bank of Iraq cracking down on bank managers who have apparently been taking extra payments for hording and exporting uncirculated currency. The limitation does not appear to be the prelude to any major action on the part of the Central Bank of Iraq.

DinarBanker.com sources expect the limited supply of available uncirculated currency to last at least 2-3 weeks. This limited supply may affect the price (for dealers) and availability (for dealers) of uncirculated currency over the next several weeks. Currently, DinarBanker.com is well stocked and foresees no supply issues or price changes for uncirculated currency. There has been an ongoing supply issue for uncirculated 5000 dinar banknotes; however, this has been the result of the denomination’s printing cycle and may be aggravated by the recent limitations. Dinarbanker.com sources expect all of the current supply issues to be temporary (2-4 weeks).

Sincerely,
DinarBanker.com
