FINANCE MINISTRY RELEASES 20% OF INVESTMENT BUDGET FOR 2010

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Finance Minister Baqer al-Zubaydi gave instructions to release 20 percent of the provincial investment budget for the year 2010, according to a ministry statement on Sunday.

“Minister Zubaydi gave directives to the ministry’s accounting department to release 20 percent of the 2010 provincial investment budget for ongoing projects,” read the statement as received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“The minister also instructed that the 2010 operational budget, including the appropriations for the ration card, the social security umbrella and civil servants and pensioners’ salaries be released,” added the statement.
